 If you share an interest in the Battle of Mortimers Cross, then this project is for you. Come and join us, meet other enthusiasts and possibly learn something new. 

The Mortimers Cross Battlefield Project 1461is an immersive project, led by professionals but open to volunteers of all ages.

 

As well as research and archaeology searches, there are talks, guided tours and many other educational project and event. Dr Glenn Foard of Huddersfield University, a prominent figure in this field, is heading the archaeology search as well giving talks and guided tours. Professor Tracey Partida, another eminent figure,  is a specialist in landscape archaeology.  In partnership with Dr Glenn, Professor Tracey gives valuable insights with her talks and guided walks. They both work together with volunteers who trawl the resources of the local archives in Hereford.

The project is funded by a Heritage Grant from the National Lottery. It was established by local volunteers who wanted to get the site officially recognised and authenticated.  The Battlefield Trust is overseeing the project in partnership with The University of Huddersfield.
